Renewable energy is created by harnessing the naturally occuring resources, provided by nature, that do not release fossilised carbon during energy production. Renewable Energy systems can take many forms including, solar panels, wind farms and biomass power stations.

Solar power and wind power are only available intermittently as the sun shines or the wind blows! SES Advanced Waste Fuelled Power Stations are able to generate electricity 24/7 and provide a reliable baseload electricity for consumers.

Many waste streams contain a high proportion of biomass such as wood, food waste, garden waste, paper and cardboard. The SES MBT system is able to rapidly separate the biomass fraction of these waste streams to produce a clean 95% biomass that can then be used to generate electricity using the system of advanced pyrolysis.

Advanced pyrolysis converts the biomass into a calorific gas which is then used to fire high efficiency gas powered generators (gensets) that convert much more of the gas energy into useful electrical energy than conventional steam generators used in coal or oil burning power stations.

SES Advanced Waste Fuelled Power Stations come in various configurations:

BioEnergy - separates the biomass fraction and generates renewable electricity from the biomass while recovering recyclable materials from the inorganic fraction. The BioEnergy system diverts 95% of the biodegradable waste from landfill. The BioEnergy system is most suited to areas with good soil conditions or where the use of waste derived compost on land is not permitted.

SynEnergy - separates the biomass fraction to produce a very high specification compost/soil improver, recovers recyclable materials from the inorganic fraction and then converts the inorganic residues to clean electricity to power the plant and export to the national electricity distribution grid. The SynEnergy system returns much needed carbon back to the producing soil, diverts 95% of the biodegradable waste from landfill and is energy self-sufficient. This system is most suited to areas with poor soil conditions and a shortage of electrical energy.

BioSynEnergy - combines the BioEnergy and SynEnergy systems to produce renewable electricity from the biomass fraction and clean electricity from the inorganic fraction. The BioSynEnergy system is most suited to areas where electrical energy is at a premium and soil conditions are good.
